From County Armagh, Jarlath Henderson has been playing the uilleann pipes since the age of 10, having learned from Armagh Pipers Club teachers Brian Vallely, Mark Donnelly, Tiarnán Ó Duinnchinn and Eamonn Curran. A talented and versatile musician, Jarlath also plays whistle, flute, cittern and has recently been winning over audiences with song.

In 2003 he became the first and only Irish solo artist to win the prestigious BBC Young Folk Musician of the Year Award, which led to him being invited to play at some of the most prestigious festivals in Europe. Jarlath is a three times ‘All-Ireland Champion’ Uilleann Piper, a teacher both in Ireland and Scotland and has featured in numerous BBC television programs on piping and music

Cindy Kallet and Grey Larson, each well-known and loved for their decades of music making, come together to give a concert of contemporary and traditional songs and tunes.  Cindy is a superb singer, guitarist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.  Grey is one of America's finest players of the Irish flute and tin whistle, as well as an accomplished singer and concertina, fiddle, piano and harmonium player.

Workshop in Open Tunings for Guitar with Cindy Kallett 

During the first hour of this workshop, we'll experiment with a few non-standard tunings in order to discover the delightful and unexpected sounds that can occur when you change the pitches of some of the strings.

Michael J. Kennedy Repertoire Workshop with Grey Larson 

All Instruments - $25

In this workshop, Grey will share traditional Irish tunes from the repertoire of melodeon player Michael J. Kennedy (1900-1978).  The tunes work well on all melody instruments, so all melody players are invited.
